Govee insists on offering a half dozen "meh" super-strobes in all of their lights. I also wanted to use the lights for music, but the patterns are mediocre. The result: the lights don't turn off with the screen, they'll just show a dimmer color. This is enough time to detect the reflected color after you turn off your screen. Why is that a problem? Well, there's a slight delay between what the camera sees and updating the lights.

The capture camera will not pick up the top half of your screen (poor software design), yet it will pick up its own light reflecting off your desk. Color accuracy is poor - it really wants to add red to everything so you have to set the white balance almost all the way to the left / blue and drop saturation down to < 20%. First the side bars are 3x brighter than the strip light, but you can only set brightness for everything at once. Video backlight has a few issues that could be solved by better firmware / software design.
